Greg Powers- Lifetime PGA Tour Professional
Chris Haack- UGA Men's Head Golf Coach
The Greater Augusta Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Warren Baptist Church are pleased to announce the speakers for the 2018 Masters Week Golf Breakfast (#MWGB18).
A veteran of over 300 PGA Tour events, Atlanta native Greg Powers is the current Director of U.S. Kids Golf. Powers has a strong and moving testimony of God’s healing power in his life after he sustained injuries from a horrific automobile accident in 1992 that caused him to spend 7 weeks in the hospital and 12 months in a wheelchair only to return to competitive golf and qualify for the 2002 U.S. Senior Open. Hear Powers tell of how God restored him to continue to passionately pursue a career in golf when all hope seemed lost.
In addition to Powers, University of Georgia Men’s Head Golf Coach Chris Haack will be co-headlining this year’s breakfast. Now in his 22nd year at the helm of Georgia’s flagship collegiate golf program, UGA Men’s Golf has enjoyed nine Top-10 and 16 Top-20 efforts at the NCAA’s including national title efforts in 1999 and again in 2005. Haack has mentored over 60 NCAA Division 1 All-Americans including the likes of Nick Cassini, Kevin Kisner, and Bubba Watson. After leading the Dawgs to their 29th SEC Golf Title in 2016 – which was also their 8th SEC title under Haack – Haack was named to his fifth SEC Coach of the Year honor. He was also chosen as NCAA National Coach of the Year after the school’s national title in 2005.
This year’s free breakfast takes place on Tuesday, April 3, at 7AM in the Family Life Center at Warren Baptist Church. Past speakers for this event have included the likes of Aaron Baddeley, Jonathan Byrd, K.J. Choi, Stewart Cink, Ben Crane, Fred Funk, Zach Johnson, Bernhard Langer, Tom Lehman, Larry Mize, and Pat Summerall.
